Work We Turn Down
We work on garage doors, torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, rollers, cables, and panels. Most of the houses we get called to went up between 1984 and 2001, so a lot of what we see is original hardware that's outlived its lubrication and its warranty both. That's the range we're set up for.
What we don't do: we don't touch commercial rolling steel doors or fire-rated doors, and we don't quote a repair over the phone sight-unseen if the door has been driven into. If your torsion spring let go and the door is sitting crooked on the track, we'd rather look at the drums and the cable drum set before we say what it needs. Sometimes what looks like a spring job turns out to be a bent track from someone backing into it, and that's a different bill.
We also won't tell you to replace a door that just needs a spring and a tune-up. If the opener is original to a house built in the early '90s and the gears are shot, sometimes a new opener costs less than parts and labor on the old one. We'll say that plainly instead of running up a repair ticket on a unit that's done.
Where We Travel
We're based at 5820 Millenium, Harlingen, TX 78550, and we run calls out from there. Primera and Combes are both about 4 miles out, San Benito is 5, Rio Hondo and La Feria sit around 8, and Palmer is close behind at 9. Solis, Heidelberg, and Sebastian run 10 to 12 miles.
Farther out we still cover Mercedes, Laureles, Indian Hills, Rancho Viejo, and Los Fresnos, all around 14 miles, then La Villa, Mila Doce, and Lyford near 16, and Llano Grande, Progreso, Edcouch, Weslaco, Progreso Lakes, and Olivarez between 17 and 18 miles. Elsa and Midway North, at 20 miles, are about as far as a same-day call reasonably stretches.
Summer heat down here is hard on garage doors specifically because of what it does to steel and to the grease in the hinges and rollers - severe heat exposure means openers and springs work harder and wear faster than they would in a milder climate. That's a factor in almost every call we run in July and August, no matter which of these towns it's in.

We don't publish flat rates here because spring size, panel count, and opener model all change the number, and quoting blind isn't fair to you or to us. What we can say: a lot of the housing stock we work on locally dates to the 1980s and '90s, and parts for doors that age aren't always sitting on a shelf, so a same-day fix isn't guaranteed if a part has to be ordered in.
