Work We Turn Down
Most of the doors we see sit on houses built between 1984 and 2001 - that's the bulk of the stock out here, with the median build year landing right around 1992. That means a lot of steel sectional doors on extension or torsion setups from the same twenty-year run, and we know those systems well: springs, rollers, cables, the openers that came with them and the ones that replaced them since.
What we don't do is chase parts for doors that predate that window by decades or that were custom-ordered from a builder who's long out of business. If a panel style isn't made anymore and a patch job would just fail again in a year, we say so and we quote a replacement instead of billing you for a repair that won't hold. We also don't take on jobs that are really carpentry or framing work dressed up as a garage door call - if the header or jambs are rotted or out of square, that's a different trade, and we'll tell you before we start pulling springs.
We're not the crew for a full detached-garage build or a custom architectural door shipped in from elsewhere. Straightforward repair and replacement on the kind of doors that went up with these houses - that's the job.
Where We Travel
We run out of Harlingen, TX, and the drive times stay short for most of the week. Primera and Combes are both about four miles out. San Benito is five, Rio Hondo and La Feria are eight each, Palmer is nine, Solis is ten.
Past that we still take regular calls: Heidelberg and Sebastian at twelve miles, Mercedes, Laureles, Indian Hills, and Rancho Viejo all around fourteen, Los Fresnos at fifteen. Out to sixteen miles you've got La Villa, Mila Doce, and Lyford, then Llano Grande and Progreso at seventeen, Edcouch and Weslaco and Progreso Lakes and Olivarez at eighteen. Elsa and Midway North, both twenty miles out, are about as far as we go on a standard call.
That's a wide radius, and it covers roughly 25 named areas built up mostly in the same 1980s-90s stretch as Harlingen itself, which is part of why the work looks similar from one stop to the next - same era of door, same era of hardware, different street.
